Volunteer Now!

As we get ready for our Annual General Meeting in September (details will be announced soon), the club is looking for volunteers to get involved with its operations and coaching. At this year’s meeting we are looking for new coaches, Board of Directors, and Officers. If you are interested in getting involved, reach out to any of in the individuals below and make sure to join us at our upcoming meeting! 

Board of Directors

There are up to 12 Board of Director positions available.


The New Scotland Soccer Club, Inc. is governed and managed by the Board of Directors. They manage the property, affairs, business, and concerns. They are committed to upholding the mission, philosophies, and general policies of the Club. They are elected by the members of the Club and serve three (3) year terms. At any time, there can be up to fifteen (15) Directors.

Club Officers

There are at least two officer positions no one is running for.


Officers of the club are elected annually by the Board of Directors. Each individual must also be a Board of Director member.

Secretary: Ian Beilby



Other Positions

Certain positions are appointed annually by the President and need not be on the Board of Directors. These positions include:


Equipment Director: Joerg Siemann

Registrar: Mark Aversa

Assistant Registrar: Sara Aversa

Web Administrator: Vacant

CDYSL League Representative: Vacant




The New Scotland Soccer Club always welcome any individuals at any time who interested in coaching and helping out teams at any age level, boys or girls. From our spring/fall travel teams, to our summer camp, to our weekly Winter Academies – we strive to provide the best opportunities for our players to enjoy the great game of soccer. Our top priorities are to support individual development, provide a positive team participation, and an overall positive club experience as outlined in our Coaching Curriculum. The club will also reimburse any coach the registration costs for the successful completion of certifications (see the policy).

New Scotland Soccer Camp

Register Now! July 17-21, 2017

The New Scotland Soccer Club is pleased to announce this year’s evening soccer camp. This educational, fun event is dedicated to helping all players improve, understand, and enjoy soccer.

    ·   Licensed, experienced coaches and high school players teach fundamental ball skills and basic tactics.

    ·   Small-sided games and scrimmages are used to get players more touches on the ball.

Who can participate?

All boys and girls entering 2nd Grade through 7th Grade are welcome.

When and where is it located?

This camp is conveniently located at the Voorheesville High School Satellite fields starting Monday, July 17th through Friday, July 21st from 6-8:30pm for Grades 4-7 and 6:30-8pm for Grades 2-3.

What is the cost and how can we register?

Register by July 4th to guarantee your spot, free t-shirt, and new ball! Registration prices increase $15 after July 4 and registration closes July 10.

There is a $5 discount per player for registering 3 or more in your family.

What about weather cancellations?

Bad weather does happen. In the case of severe weather, camp will be cancelled for the evening and discontinued when a storm hits. We apologize that we are not able to provide any rescheduled dates.

2017 Winter Academy

The more time players spend with the ball, the better!  

The New Scotland Soccer Club is excited to offer free, fast-paced, challenging technical sessions that are dedicated to having players of all abilities improve, understand, and enjoy soccer.  Licensed, experienced club coaches will teach fundamental ball skills and basic tactics using drills, exercises and small-sided games in order to give players maximum touches on the ball. Topics that will be covered include:

·        Mastering dribbling and passing with both feet, using all parts of the foot

·        Clean, quick trapping with different parts of the body -- improving first touch.

·        The basics of attacking and defending, using time and space, touch and pace.

·        How to better communicate on the field.


Who Can Participate

Two different sessions will be offered for different coed age groups for players registered for the Spring 2017 season with NSSC:

·        Grades 1-3

·        Grades 4-6


When & Where Sessions Will Be

All sessions will be at the Peter Young Center in Altamont on Saturday mornings. The program will run from December 31, 2016 until February 11, 2017.

·        9:00-10:30am         |  Grades 1-3

·        10:30am-12:00pm  |  Grades 4-6


How to Register

These sessions are free for Spring 2017 season players, but you still need to register now at newscotlandsc.siplay.com to participate. Registration closes December 28, 2016.

New Scotland Soccer Club 2016 Annual General Meeting

The New Scotland Soccer Club 2016 Annual General Meeting will be held Thursday October 27th, 7:00-9:00 PM, in the Voorheesville High School Library.

Topics to be covered:
 • Routine NSSC business
 • Board of Director and Officer elections and appointments
 • The upcoming 2017 Spring season
 • Other new ideas for the club. 

We have two open officer positions, Secretary and Registrar. These volunteer positions will held guide the future direction of the New Scotland Soccer Club. If you are interested in participating in an organization that serves local New Scotland soccer athletes, please come and learn more about these positions. 

Individuals interested volunteering to coach for the club are also encouraged to attend.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Spring Registration is open!

The New Scotland Soccer Club opens registration for the 2016 Spring Travel season on October 10th 2016. Please see the informational flyer below. 

This year CDYSL has switched to birth year grouping for team placement.  This is a change from previous years where the cut off was August 1st.  Please see the age matrix below.

Take note of the early registration period!!  So register early so your child does not miss out on all of the fun!! Please contact us with any questions or comments.

Possible U13 (2004) Teams for Fall Ball!?!?

NSSC has created registration for teams for U13 (2004). This is for all of the kids who may have been aged out of U12 due to the new US Youth Soccer Age Matrix. If CDYSL has a U13 Division and we have enough players and a coach, we will field a team. So if you have any interest at all , for any of the available ages (birth year 2004 through 2008), please register TODAY!!

2016 Fall Soccer registration is now open!!!

Registration has begun for the fall soccer session. This will be a short non-result oriented, festival style season with games played on Sunday afternoons from September 11th through October 23, 2016. Teams will be formed for boys and girls born in the years 2005 through 2008. The cost is $60.
