Voorheesville, NY 12186
WHO: Any Under-10 or Under-12 boy or girl is eligible to participate. There will be two Academies – one for U-10s and another for U-12s. Boys and girls will participate together. Each Academy is limited to 20 players. First come, first served -- so register soon. Have your child(ren) join us for the 1st annual indoor soccer academy!
Under-10 players were born from August 2003 -- July 2005.
Under-12 players were born from August 2001 -- July 2003.
WHAT: Academy training will be primarily skills-based technical training and focus on individual players’ development. It will be fun, interesting, and challenging. It is not competition -- there are no games or league play involved. There will be 1 field shared by both academies. Experienced coaches from the Club will provide the training.
WHY: The club wants to provide year-round training in order for players to develop their soccer skills and abilities. The more time kids spend with the ball, the more times they perform these skills using the proper technique, the more automatic the skills become. Ball skills take years to develop. We believe that players need to develop ball skills as youngsters -- the younger, the better. They need to be able to make that ball dance. They need to be able to make the ball do what they want it to when they want it to. Ball skills are the foundation. Players who acquire these skills at young ages learn the game more quickly and are better able to implement tactical concepts that become part of the game later.
Why train at Afrim’s? Indoor training has been extremely limited in recent years due to the lack of gym space in our schools.
