The New Scotland
Soccer Club
sponsors competitive traveling soccer teams in the Under 8 through
Under 19 1/2 age groups for both boys and girls. The goal of the Club
is to encourage players with a serious interest in soccer, foster
development of player skills and sportsmanship, and engage in
competitive games in the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL).
The CDYSL, which was formed in 1978 by fourteen teams representing
several hundred players, is presently the second largest youth soccer
league in the state, with 52 clubs and nearly 15,000 players. CDYSL is
geographically large as well, covering 17 counties plus two clubs in
adjoining states.
Players may apply for team membership, but the Club reserves the right to assign players to a team and adjust the composition of each team to match the level of anticipated League competition. Final team size and player assignment is subject to the approval of Club coaches and officers. Players are required to register at their appropriate age level. Depending on number of applicants, tryouts may be required before acceptance on a team. If needed, tryouts will be scheduled for late November or early December; the Club will notify prospective players of the date and time. Apply early to assure that you are considered! |
